Paws & Purpose Animal Rescue
The Story
Paws & Purpose started in Sarah Chen's garage. Literally. One injured stray cat turned into two, then five, then twenty. Five years later, the shelter has saved over 1,200 animals from euthanasia.
They operate on a shoestring budget. Every dollar goes to the animals. Sarah hasn't taken a salary in three years. The four volunteers who show up daily do it because they believe every animal deserves a chance.
Last month, they took in a litter of puppies with parvo. The vet bills were $4,800. That's more than their entire monthly budget. They saved the puppies. But now they can't afford to keep the lights on.
The math is simple: $50 vaccinates 5 animals. $200 covers a spay/neuter surgery. $1,000 means they don't have to turn away a single animal this month.
Sarah says she'll sleep in her car before she closes the shelter. Let's make sure she doesn't have to.
